The year was 1969, a time when air travel was experiencing rapid expansion, and the world was witnessing a profound transformation in global transportation. On December 11th of that year, the world awoke to the news that would send shockwaves throughout the aviation community and beyond.

Our tale begins with Korean Air Lines Flight 858, a domestic passenger flight en route from Gangneung to Gimpo Airport in South Korea. Little did the crew and passengers know that this routine flight would become the backdrop for a dramatic and unprecedented hijacking.

On board the aircraft were 50 passengers and four crew members, their journey taking them over the Korean Peninsula. But as fate would have it, two individuals, Kim Shin-jo and Kim Kye-won, disguised as a couple, had devised a sinister plan to seize control of the aircraft.
