21 Years Later: Honoring the Victims of EAS Airlines Flight 4226

Hello, my lovely readers, Today, we remember a tragic event that occurred on May 4th, 2002, when EAS Airlines Flight 4226 crashed shortly after takeoff from Kano Airport, Nigeria. Today is the 21st year anniversary of this flight. The flight was carrying 69 passengers and 8 crew members. Unfortunately,73 people on board lost their lives in the crash. as well as 30 people on the ground. Also, 4 people on board and 47 people on the ground got heavily injured. The exact number of people who were killed on the ground could not be determined.

The flight was en route to Lagos when it crashed into a densely populated area just minutes after takeoff. The cause of the accident was determined to be engine failure caused by a fatigue crack in the engine mount, which was later attributed to poor maintenance practices.

The aftermath of the crash was devastating, and it had a significant impact on the families, friends, and loved ones of the victims. It also led to significant changes in the aviation industry to improve maintenance practices and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
